Dear AHV Neighbors,
The DOH announced on May 18, 2022 that they are authorizing the administration of 2nd booster shots against Covid-19 to all Seniors as well as healthcare workers. This comes in addition to their earlier authorization of 2nd booster shots for immunocompromised individuals. The DOH has not yet authorized 2nd booster shots for those below the age of 60.
The Moderna vaccination event previously announced for May 27 will therefore now include 2nd booster shots for Seniors and healthcare workers. Following is the revised schedule and plan for the May 27 vaccination event:
2nd Dose for General Population
1st Booster for General Population
2nd Booster for Seniors and Healthcare Workers Only
8:00 AM – 12:00 NN
Multi-purpose Pavilion
2nd Booster for Immunocompromised Individuals
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Clubhouse entrance via drive-thru
Primary dose series:
If you have not yet had your second dose of the vaccine, please ensure that you will have met the REQUISITE 4 WEEKS INTERVAL between your first and second doses by May 27.
First booster:
For those who eligible for their first booster shot, please ensure that you will have met the REQUISITE 3 MONTHS INTERVAL between your second dose and booster shot by May 27.
Second booster:
If you are a Senior (60 years and above), healthcare worker, or an immunocompromised individual wanting to get your second booster shot, please ensure that you will have met the REQUISITE 4 MONTHS INTERVAL between your first and second booster shots by May 27.
Immunocompromised individuals are strictly defined by the DOH as those in or with
a. Immunodeficiency state,
b. HIV,
c. Active cancer or malignancy,
d. Transplant recipients,
e. Undergoing steroid treatment,
f. Patients with poor prognosis / bed-ridden patients, and
g. Other conditions of immunodeficiency as certified by a physician.
Immunocompromised individuals must present a current Medical Certificate to be administered a second booster shot. This is a DOH requirement.
To be added to the list for vaccination on May 27, please call Pauline at tel. nos. 8850-8254, 8850-9631 or 0906-0232089 as soon as possible. Listing will done on a “first-come/first-served” basis. The registration cut-off date/time is May 25 at 10:00 AM.
The next vaccination event will be held on June 3.
Further, as mentioned in all our previous bulletins pertaining to Moderna vaccination events, we are continuing to look into the contracts/agreements entered into between AHVA and third parties for the purchase and administration of the vaccines. When we are done with our review, we will issue a report to you as promised in our Team CommUNITY Manifesto. Please bear with us as we work through this detailed review.
