Dear AHV Community Members,
Alabang Hills, with Kaligiran environmental organization, will be hosting our 2nd plastic segregation & collection day, exclusively for AHV residents.
This will be on Saturday, November 28, from 9-11:30am at the AHV Sports Pavilion.
All CLEAN & SEGREGATED plastic collected will be upcycled into furniture for Haven for Children, a center for street children recovering from substance abuse. This will be the last collection for this year, and the next schedule will be on January 2021.
Let’s help Kaligiran achieve successful PLASTIC RECYCLING by following these steps:
Step 1: Prepare your plastic items by cleaning and drying them at home.
Step 2: Sorting is key in recycling. Check the plastic item for any classification marking, and sort them by type – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Type 3 plastic is not accepted by Kaligiran. Please refer to the following picture guide for types of plastic. Ideally, all plastic should be sorted prior to donating. If you need help in sorting, Kaligiran & AHV volunteers may help onsite.
Step 3: Bring your plastic donation (only Types 1,2,4,5,6, and 7) to the AHV Sports Pavilion for screening on November 28, from 9-11:30am. Only CLEAN & DRIED items will be accepted.
Step 4: There are 6 big segregation sacks onsite. Please refer to the classification marking on your plastic product or refer to the list of items next to each sack for guidance. Drop your items into these sacks. Guides will be there to assist you if you have any questions.
